An EICR, also known as an Electrical Installation Condition Report or Periodic Inspection Report, is a document describing the safety of an electrical installation in a property. It must be carried out by a registered electrician or approved contractor.

Why do I need an EICR?

An EICR is often required to prove that the electrics are up to standard in rented accommodation or commercial premises, to ensure safety for tenants or employees.

 

Homeowners may also wish to carry out an EICR on a new property, particularly if the installations are old.
